Welcome to the Cultural Capital of Kerala – the city of poorams and festivals. Varadium in the district of Thrissur is a parish, 12 km away from Thrissur town. It comes under the Archdiocese of Thrissur.
The community was founded in 1996 to mark the 3rd Centenary of the History of our Congregation in a concrete way. Following the example of Blessed Marie Poussepin who left Dourdan a prosperous town where she was born to go and live in the humble village of Sainville, the sisters moved to Papanagar, a housing colony for low-income families. The mission in Varadium is to proclaim Jesus Christ through their presence among the people.
Community, united in love at the feet of the Lord, gathers its missionary dynamism from sharing of the Word and the Bread.
Quiet time spent with the Lord energizes them to witness Him in all their activities.
Sharing the simple lifestyle of the people, the sisters promote children, women, men, and families through various services.
The sisters collaborate with the Parish priest in all the parish activities. The service to the parish and visits to the families continue to be the main thrust.
Sisters offer their service to the sick and suffering through Amala Institute of Medical Sciences.
The community supports the student sisters who prepare themselves to respond effectively and with justice to the demands of the mission.
